Health & Safety

Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Hello, I am Ms. Maria. I was born in Cuba and raised in Paterson, New Jersey. I am new to Primrose, but have 15 years of teaching expereince, primarily in early childhood education. The best part of my job is being able to experience and wittness life through the children’s perspective – one filled with wonder and excitement. On a personal note, I love Sunday brunch and watching cooking shows with my daughter. The Primrose character I most relate to is Peanut the Pony. Like him, I love words! I love reading, writing, and sharing stories with all my friends.

Patterns with Pre-Kindergarten

At Primrose School of Copperfield small group learning is a core part of our Balanced Learning curriculum. Our Pre-K students are mastering the magic of patterns through sequences and wooden blocks. By sorting colorful blocks and making patterns, our students are building early math skills like recognition and critical thinking.

Texture Art

Our Pre-K students explored texture painting! With every dab and press, glide and stamp they discovered colors, textures, and the joy of creative expression. At Primrose Schools, even the messiest moments are meaningful. Through hands-on activities like this, children build fine motor skills, explore early color recognition, and express themselves in new ways, all while having fun!

Bike Safety Month

Our Pre-K students adore our annual Bike Rodeo! They enjoy learning the rules of the road - Primrose bike style! From practicing how to wear helmets properly to learning about stop signs and safe riding, we’re helping children build smart habits for biking with confidence. At Primrose School of Copperfield safety is always at the forefront of our focus from our students to staff and all families!

Dental Health Month

In honor of Dental Health Month, our Primrose students got a special visit from a local dentist who taught us all about brushing, flossing, and keeping our smiles healthy. The children loved exploring dental tools, asking questions, and learning how to care for their teeth.
