Our Infant Classroom

We know the first year of life can have a big influence on a child’s success in the years that follow. That’s why teachers in your child’s Infant classroom provide a loving and nurturing environment as they lay the foundation for learning. This includes literacy; communication and vocabulary skills to help your infant better express their needs; gross motor skills and sensory development; and emotional well-being.

Health & Safety

At Primrose School of North Olathe, the health, safety, and well-being of every child is our highest priority. We are committed to maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, security, and care while providing a warm, nurturing environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive with confidence.

Our health and safety practices include:

  • Requiring any child or staff member experiencing fever or respiratory illness symptoms to return home and remain home until fever-free for at least 24 hours without medication.
  • Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch surfaces, toys, and classroom materials throughout the day.
  • Regular handwashing protocols for both children and staff, integrated into our daily routines and curriculum.
  • Ongoing teacher training to recognize common signs of illness in children, with health and wellness reminders posted throughout classrooms.
  • Daily laundering of infant crib sheets and individualized cots and blankets for older children, which are cleaned and sanitized weekly.
  • Maintaining appropriate teacher-to-student ratios to ensure active supervision, safety, and individualized attention.
  • Continuous health and safety training for all staff members, including Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification.
  • A customized Safe School Plan that is regularly updated and accessible throughout the school for staff reference and emergency preparedness.
  • A secure dual-layer entry system with video monitoring and controlled building access, including the ability to initiate lockdown procedures when necessary.
  • Upgraded HVAC and air filtration systems in every classroom designed to improve indoor air quality and support a healthier learning environment through advanced air purification technology.

We are proud to provide families with a school environment that prioritizes safety, professionalism, and peace of mind every day.
