Mrs. Krissi Bohlsen
Mrs. Bohlsen has worked for Primrose School of Woodbury since February 2009 and has been working in early childhood education for over 25 years. Mrs. Bohlsen & her husband, Mike, grew up in Woodbury. They have two children (Owen & Vivian) and enjoy going to concerts, the WILD, and embarking on new adventures. Mrs. Bohlsen finds joy in building relationships with parents while providing children with quality care and education that instills a love of learning.

Mrs. Marianne Taiwo
Mrs. Taiwo has been leading classrooms at Primrose School since 2013. She has a passion for curriculum and finding ways to make the classroom experience more enriching. Mrs. Taiwo has over 25 years of experience teaching and directing in the early childhood field. She is excited to work with your child’s teachers to enhance the Primrose experience. For fun, Mrs. Taiwo enjoys spending time with her children, traveling, and watching Netflix.

Mrs. Anna Morrissette
Mrs. Morrissette started her early childhood journey in 2012 as part of the Primrose family here in Woodbury where she fell in love with the Primrose curriculum and the family feel Primrose provided. Mrs. Morrissette lives in Cottage Grove, with her husband Jarod, son, Callahan, daughter, Palmer, and dog, Lacy. She has a passion for organization and attention to detail. These skills, along with strong leadership and a desire to work with all families, children, and staff, make her the perfect fit for our Leadership Team.

Mrs. Deb Shepler
Mrs. Shepler is honored to be the Administrative Assistant here at The Primrose School of Woodbury. She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and elementary education from Concordia University in St. Paul. Mrs. Shepler has worked in the childcare field for over two decades. After teaching in our Pre-K program for over five years, she took two years away to pursue management training. A leadership position presented itself here at Primrose and she didn’t hesitate to come back! Mrs. Shepler lives in New Richmond, WI with her husband, Bart. They have two beautiful adult girls and are blessed with a very busy granddaughter! She enjoys watching movies, reading, and traveling.

Mrs. Burke
Hi! I am Cathi Burke. I have been teaching Infants at Primrose School since 2009. I earned my degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working in childcare since 1995. I live in Newport with my husband Richard, our dog, Jack, and cats, Marie and Snape. We have 3 sons and daughters-in-law and a beautiful granddaughter, Lila. Outside of Primrose, I like to read, garden, and spend time with my family. Fun fact: I am originally from New Jersey.

Ms. Xiong
Hi there! My name is Iaong Xiong. I have been working in childcare since 2018. I am currently attending Concordia University to get my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education (K-6). I hope to continue working in the education field. During my free time, I like to crochet and knit. I also enjoy the outdoors and hope to go hiking soon. Nice to meet you!

Ms. Axtman
Hi there! I’m Shelby, your friendly float teacher! I’ve been in childcare for 5 years and love getting to work with children of all ages. I bring a bubbly personality and a big smile wherever I go — whether I’m helping with story time, art projects, or outdoor play. I have one biological son who attends here and two teenage stepsons at home, so I know how important it is for families to feel confident and supported. I’m passionate about creating a fun, safe, and positive environment where every child can learn, grow, and shine!

Ms. Johnson
Hi! My name is Kayla Johnson. I graduated from Stillwater High School in 2023 and also received my associates degree through PSEO at Century College. I now go to Iowa State University where I am studying Psychology on a pre-med track. My career goal is to become a pediatrician, since I have always had a passion for working with kids. I am so excited to work here and get to know all the kids!

Ms. Schaefer
My name is Alyssa Schaefer. I was born in Burnsville, MN. I grew up in a military family, so I was always moving around. I have been to Alaska, Kansas, Louisiana, South Carolina and Texas. I graduated high school in Texas in 2024. I graduated with a Nursing Assistance Certification. At the beginning of the summer, I moved to Minnesota, worked as a CNA and now I am looking forward to working with kids! My goal is to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist.

Ms. Bearth
Hi! I am Ms. Bearth. I have been a crazy cat lady since I was two. I’ve been in childcare since I was seventeen and I love playing with kids and doing messy crafts. Outside of work, I play video games, do taekwondo, and spend as much time outside as possible. My favorite season is winter because of all the colors and I also love to ski.

Mrs. Hammarsten
Hello, my name is Hidy Hammarsten. I have been at Primrose School of Woodbury since August 2010. I have my CDA (Child Development Associate) certificate and have been working in childcare since 2002. I enjoy being a part of the Primrose family, and love watching the children learn and grow every day. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my three daughters and husband hiking, camping and fishing.

Mrs. Landry
My name is Mrs. Landry! I have been around children for the last fifteen years. Ten of those years, I was a nanny to four children and now I have four boys of my own. My family and I stay busy with our two dogs. We love collecting rocks every time we are outside! We also love to watch the Lord of the Rings and The Avatar: The Last Air Bender.

Mrs. Powell
Hello, my name is Crystal Powell. Let me tell you a little about me. I am originally from Loyal, WI and I currently live with my husband, David in Vadnais Heights, MN. I received my diploma in Child Care from Chippewa Valley Technical College, and I have been working with toddlers since May 2000. When I’m not at Primrose, I can be found cooking on a food trailer that my husband and I just started in August of 2022 and doing crafts, mostly string art.

Ms. Vang
Hello! My name is Panhia Vang. I graduated with an AAS in Networking. I grew up and lived in Saint Paul all my life. When I am not working, I like to read a good book or watch a good show. I also enjoy cuddling with my dog, Peanut. I love to try new food and love to travel!

Ms. Bluntson
Hi, my name is Ms. Bluntson! I’m so excited to begin my journey in early childhood education here at Primrose. Before joining the Primrose family, I worked in the service industry, where I developed strong communication and relationship-building skills that I now bring into the classroom. I also have prior experience working with young children, and I’ve always had a passion for helping them learn and grow. As I truly believe that children are our future, and by building positive relationships with them today, we’re investing in a brighter tomorrow.

Ms. Yock
Hello! I am Amanda Yock. I grew up in Lake Crystal, MN, which is a very small town. I decided to move up to the East Metro in 2023 and have been in the Woodbury area since. I love the city living with my cat, Binx. I have always had a passion for working with children of all ages. I have been working with children since I was fifteen years old. In my free time, you can find me working out at the gym. I am so happy to be a part of Primrose Schools and look forward to getting to know all the wonderful children and families!

Ms. McKay
Hi! I’m Joann McKay and I am passionate about providing nurturing, high-quality care to children in their early years. I’m currently working toward my Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and love helping children learn, grow and feel supported every step of the way. It’s an honor to be a part of the Primrose School of Woodbury team and to make a difference in each child’s day. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, playing volleyball and pickleball, going to concerts, and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Ms. Baker
Hello, my name Sedrina Baker and I am originally from Indiana. I moved to Minnesota at age 7 and am just now getting used to the Minnesota winters. As a child I have always enjoyed writing. I graduated from Como Park High School and attended college for my associate degree. I’m currently learning new things about myself and what my set major will be. I have always had a passion for working with children and I look forward to expanding my knowledge here at Primrose.

Ms. Molina
Hello! I love music and teaching. I also have a dog named Kida and two kids named Milo and Arlo. My favorite thing to do is go to concerts. I like playing outside and having fun with my friends. Most of all, I love teaching little learners!

Mrs. Cook
Hello! My name is Gabby Cook, and I am a Preschool teacher at Primrose! I live in River Falls, WI with my husband Josh, our two daughters, Penelope and Violet and our loveable lab, Stewart. In my free time, I enjoy reading, taking family walks, and watching movies. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!

Ms. Czepa
Hi! My name is Alexa Czepa, and I’m excited to be starting my teaching career in 2019. live in Somerset, Wisconsin, with my fiancé and his two amazing children, Lincoln and Hans. Outside of school, I enjoy gaming, and reading, and as a family we love to play frisbee golf and go to the arcades. I’m looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and connection, and I can’t wait to get to know all of you!

Mrs. Guertin
Hi, my name is Mary Guertin. I am married and have one son, one daughter and two dogs. I have been teaching since 2005. I love spending time with my family, going four-wheeling. I am really looking forward to being a part of your child’s education and watching them learn and grow.

Ms. Lor
Hi! My name is Ms. Lor. I have my Early Childhood Education degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. During my free time, I enjoy exploring new hiking trails, spending time with my family, binge watching T.V. shows, and weightlifting!

Ms. Gjerde
Hello! I’m Ms. Gjerde! I have over fifteen years of experience working with and teaching children of all ages. I absolutely love teaching and watching the children grow and seeing all the new things they learn. I’m one of the lead teachers here at Primrose School of Woodbury. I’ve been a teacher here since November of 2020. I’m so excited to get to know your child and your family! I have two children of my own. When I’m not teaching, I love spending time with my family, painting, working on my art and craft projects, and pet sitting.

Ms. Anderson
Hello, my name is Sarah Anderson. I studied K-12 Education and Art at Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. I’ve lived in the Twin Cities area for most of my list. I’ve loved working with kids since I volunteered with summer programs in high school. In my free time, I love to paint, do ceramics, hike with my dog Kenai (who is named after the movie Brother Bear), and spend time with my family. A fun fact about me is I’ve been to Disney World over twenty times!

Ms. Wanna
Hi! My name is Mariah Wanna-Nelson. I am a graduate of the University of Minnesota from the Morris Campus. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology. I have a love for music and singing. Another love of mine is expressing myself through painting and drawing whenever I have free time!

Ms. Tesch
Hello! My name is Ms. Tesch, and I am so happy to be back home in Minnesota—no other place has truly felt like home! I’ve had a lifelong dream of becoming a Kindergarten teacher since I was in Kindergarten myself. My passion is working with children, creating a safe and nurturing space, and making a positive impact in each scholar’s life. I hold a Bachelor’s in Integrated Elementary and Special Education from the University of Minnesota – Duluth (Go Bulldogs!). Beyond teaching, I am also a bartender, having worked in the service industry for over ten years. I love sports (especially football season), cooking, and gardening. My friends and family are very important to me, including my three dogs: a Yellow Lab, a Golden mix, and a Pit/Boxer mix. I am excited to be a part of the Primrose School of Woodbury!

Mrs. Patraw
Hi there! I’m Codie Patraw. I received my childcare degree from Rassmussen College in 1999 and I have been working at Primrose School of Woodbury since 2014. I live in Prescott, WI with my husband, Chris, and various animal members of our own little homestead with chickens, goats, and a big garden. We have raised two sons who have moved on to adulthood, one living and working in Rochester for Mayo Clinic and the other working in as an EMT in Baldwin, WI while beginning his paramedic program. Outside of work, you will often find me cooking, reading or behind the lens of my camera. I’m looking forward to getting to know your family and watching your child learn and grow in our Primrose family!

Mr. Swartwood
Hello! My name is Noah Swartwood. I have a master’s in Elementary education from Aix-Marseille University in France. I worked as a youth baseball coach and have been an elementary school teacher. I have just moved to Minnesota and only moved back to the United States in 2024. Feel free to let me know about anything you deem worthy knowing about here! Looking forward to meeting you and your kids.

Mrs. Snyder
Hello Primrose families. My name is Mrs. Snyder, and I am so excited to teach kindergarten this year! I have my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Special Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stout. I currently live in Prescott, WI with my husband, our son, daughter and two dogs. In my spare time I love to be with my family, drink coffee, read or go to the movies. I am really looking forward to getting to know my new class and their amazing families!

Ms. Pryor
Hello! My name is Rebecca Pryor. I have my Elementary & Middle School teaching degree from the College of Saint Benedict. I have been teaching in the Early Childhood field for over twenty years, and I love it. When the children in the classroom are engaged, having fun, and busy, it shows me that they are learning. I am originally from Minnetonka but have lived in Woodbury since 2006. I have a fourteen-year-old daughter who is a gymnast. During my free time I like to spend time with my daughter, travel, and hang out with family and friends. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!

Mr. Sager
Greetings and salutations, everyone. My name is Mr. Sager, and I am excited to be back with Primrose in the Explorers Club. A little background about myself: I have a bachelor’s degree in Education, and I teach high school driver’s education. Aside from that, I have been running a wrestling promotion called Midwest All-star Wrestling. When I am not teaching and working with students, I enjoy working out and going to the movies. I also love football (big Vikings fan) and like to play video games, if I can find time. I look forward to working with all of you.

Ms. Fleury
Hi! My name is Rose Fleury, and I am thrilled to be here! I participated in dual enrollment throughout high school at Minneapolis College, where I took education and core classes. Having graduated in the spring of 2025, from the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists, I will continue my studies at MCTC, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education, with plans to graduate in the spring of 2026. I have had a passion for education for as long as I can remember, and I am excited to get started! I look forward to getting to know your child and doing everything I can to help them grow. In my spare time, I love attending concerts, thrifting, and traveling whenever possible.

Mrs. Barboza
Hi there! A little bit about me; I love crafty activities like drawing, painting and sculpting. I’m also a huge fan of reading! I think I’ve probably read over fifty books in my life! (Wow!) I am married, with one silly dog that we love so much. We also have a special love for exotic pets, like snakes! My favorite kind of snake is a Boa Constrictor because they have a lot of difference patterns and cool colors.

Mr. Hamlin
Hi! I am Matt Hamlin. I am from White Bear Lake, MN and proud to say that I am the Chef at Primrose School of Woodbury. I have 2 children, and a puppy, who make me very happy. I attended school to become a chef and have been cooking professionally for years. I have been cooking since I was three years old! I have 4 sisters and lots of nieces and nephews that I enjoy visiting and playing with. My favorite things to do are movie nights, fishing, going out to eat and attending music shows. Cooking healthy, tasty, and balanced meals for the children at Primrose is SO much fun I would not trade it for any other job.

Ms. Reyes
My name is Ashley Reyes. I love to read and enjoy all things green. My favorite movie is Cars! In 2024, I finished my first year in college at St. Thomas. I have two sisters, and I love spending time with them. I enjoy working with children and hope to open a school in the future. I am always looking for something new to try. I really enjoy working with children and look forward to working with them at Primrose!

Ms. Brabec
My name is Ms. Brabec and I am from Woodbury, MN. I got to college at UW-River Falls for speech-language pathology. I have two dogs at home named Penny and Parker. I enjoy getting outdoors and spend most of my free time hiking, camping, swimming, etc. I also love to travel and I am looking forward to taking some road trips this summer!

Ms. Leno
Hi! My name is Morgan Leno. I am currently a senior at East Ridge High School. I plan on going to UW – Eau Claire to study elementary education. I have always had a passion for working with kids. In my free time, I like spending time with friends and family. I also love traveling and going on adventures.
