Health & Safety

Our school is committed to high standards of safety and cleanliness as we create a caring and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

Requiring any children or staff with respiratory illness symptoms or fever to return home and stay home until fever free for at least 24 hours
Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys
Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is embedded in our curriculum and daily staff protocols
Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind
Daily laundering of crib sheets for infants; for older children, individual cots and blankets are provided for each child and laundered weekly
Ensuring appropriate teacher-student classroom ratios
Continuous health & safety training for our staff, including first aid and CPR certification
Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access

Mrs. Romero-Cortez

Co-Assistant Director Pre-K Team support

Mrs. Cortes-Romero is a highly seasoned educator with over 15 years of experience in early childhood development. She holds an AA in Early Childhood Education and has spent 8 years at the Primrose School of Longwood at Wekiva Springs. Beyond her work in the classroom, she has served as an Education Coach, where she utilized her Florida state Staff and Director’s Credentials to mentor teaching teams and ensure the highest standards of classroom instruction. Mrs. Cortes-Romero is fluent in Spanish, enabling her to support English Language Learners and provide a culturally rich, inclusive environment for all families. She is passionate about our Primrose Balanced Learning® approach, focusing on character development and STEAM-based literacy. Her background includes 5 years in local summer camps and 2 years in elementary education, where she specialized in supporting Pre-K transitions and supporting fellow educators. In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter.
Mrs. Cortes-Romero finds immense joy in her work and is passionate about shaping the futures of her students.

La Sra. Cortes-Romero es una educadora con amplia experiencia, con más de 15 años en el desarrollo de la primera infancia. Posee un título de Técnico Superior en Educación Infantil y ha trabajado durante 8 años en la Primrose School de Longwood en Wekiva Springs. Además de su labor en el aula, se ha desempeñado como asesora pedagógica, utilizando sus credenciales estatales de Florida para personal docente y directivo para guiar a los equipos de enseñanza y garantizar los más altos estándares de instrucción en el aula. La Sra. Cortes-Romero habla español con fluidez, lo que le permite apoyar a los estudiantes que aprenden inglés como segunda lengua y brindar un entorno inclusivo y enriquecedor para todas las familias. Le apasiona el enfoque de aprendizaje equilibrado de Primrose (Primrose Balanced Learning®), centrado en el desarrollo del carácter y la alfabetización basada en STEAM (ciencia, tecnología, ingeniería, arte y matemáticas). Su experiencia incluye 5 años en campamentos de verano locales y 2 años en educación primaria, donde se especializó en facilitar la transición de preescolar a primaria y en apoyar a otros educadores. En su tiempo libre, disfruta pasar tiempo con su esposo y su hija. La Sra. Cortes-Romero encuentra una gran satisfacción en su trabajo y le apasiona contribuir al futuro de sus alumnos.
