This classroom is a bridge to Kindergarten.

Our Transitional Kindergarten program is designed to support your child’s academic, physical, social and emotional development as they prepare to do big things in kindergarten and beyond. This research-informed program helps nurture Active Minds, Healthy Bodies, and Happy Hearts®.

Active Minds

Our Balanced Learning® approach uses an intentional mix of whole-group, small-group and individualized instruction to help your child develop skills across domains, including reading, writing, technology, engineering and math.

    Language & Literacy

    Through joyful and authentic literacy experiences, your child uses their imagination and strengthens their reading comprehension skills. In Writer’s Workshop, they build their identity as a writer, learning that reading and writing are ways to share their ideas with others and express creativity.

    Science, Engineering & Technology

    Teachers engage your child in the design thinking process, which encourages them to ask questions, guides them through project-based learning experiences and invites them to think critically to solve real-world problems.

    Mathematics

    Teachers introduce counting, number recognition, measuring, geometry and patterning through whole- and small-group instruction. Children also learn reasoning and problem-solving strategies that extend learning beyond traditional math concepts.

  • Social Studies
    Social Studies

    Your child learns to appreciate the importance of belongingness as they explore the unique traits and common interests of their classroom community and the communities outside their school. They also participate in Primrose PromiseSM to practice giving without expectation and make a meaningful difference in their communities.

Healthy Bodies

It takes time and consistency to nurture healthy habits, so Primrose school teachers make health and wellness part of the daily classroom experiences all year long. This includes physical activity, healthy habits like handwashing, and proper nutrition with chef-prepared meals and snacks.

    Our age-appropriate playgrounds give your child the space each day to strengthen gross motor muscles by jumping, climbing, sliding and running freely and safely.
